The first Swiss Digital Day is a national event taking place simultaneously throughout the country and is unique in Europe. Over 40 companies and institutions, both economic and academic, will show the public what exactly digitization means today and what it might mean in future. The day of action will take place under the auspices of Swiss President Doris Leuthard and Federal Council Representative Johann Schneider-Ammann, in addition to the active participation of Federal Councilor Alain Berset.
The goal of the event is to bring a wide range of people in contact with the effects of digitization and show them how society, economics, employment and family life is changing as a result of new technological possibilities. The public will have the chance to experience the many facets of the digital revolution first-hand.

As part of the digitalswitzerland initiative, which was launched in 2015, the worlds of business, politics and science aim to come together to make Switzerland a leading international digital innovator. The initiative is already active with projects in many fields and focuses on various strategic pillars, such as the political and regulatory environment, education and exchange of knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit, start-up ecosystems and dialog with the public. Members include over 60 of the most well-known companies, organizations and innovators from all over Switzerland.
