As expected, the four airports of Porto Alegre, Salvador, Florianópolis and Fortaleza are on the list. They are to be auctioned off in the first quarter of 2017. In addition, some roads, railroad lines and the east-west rail connection could well be up for sale. One part of the PPI project also provides for the privatization of some mines, as well as water and energy installations. However, the government cannot carry out most of the planned privatizations on its own authority, but only with the consent of Congress.
