IHK strengthens research on Eastern Switzerland

The St.Gallen-Appenzell Chamber of Commerce and Industry has founded a new research institute called IHK Research. Its aim is to strengthen its basic research for politics and business in Eastern Switzerland.

The new centre of expertise is headed up by Frank Bodmer.

The St.Gallen-Appenzell Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) has been conducting studies on Eastern Switzerland for the past several years. This work will now be intensified with the new institute IHK Research. According to an IHK statement, the centre of expertise is headed up by Frank Bodmer, who has participated in numerous IHK St.Gallen-Appenzell studies in the past.

Thanks to its research work, IHK has become an important point of contact for questions concerning the economic region of Eastern Switzerland. Politics and business refer to the business association’s knowledge, which documents economic developments in Eastern Switzerland.

These regional economic developments will continue to be one of the main focus areas of IHK Research, as will the medium-term prospects for Eastern Switzerland. The institute will also deal with matters such as public finances, education policy and monitoring regulations. Providing services to third parties is not excluded at this time, but IHK’s independence must be maintained.
