SFS will use these investments to increase capacity and productivity at key sites. According to a statement, its headquarters in Heerbrugg and one of its warehouses in Rebstein, both of which are in the canton of St.Gallen, are the two sites that will benefit from the investments.

A new building for heat-treating operations will be constructed in Heerbrugg, increasing production floor space by around 1,800 square metres. The new facility is expected to be completed by 2017 and will contribute to the company’s future growth in this field.

Logistics infrastructure in Heerbrugg will also be upgraded to optimise the flow of goods and materials, increase capacity and shorten response times. This will help create the basis for Industry 4.0 solutions, which will include networking SFS’s warehouse with its customers. SFS is investing a total of CHF 26 million in Heerbrugg.

SFS’s central warehouse in Rebstein with its 18,000 square metres of warehouse space is already one of the most modern logistics centres in Europe. SFS plans to increase its storage capacity by more than 4,500 square metres by mid-2018. It will also upgrade the warehouse’s logistics infrastructure. These investments will enable SFS to strengthen its competitive profile.
