The national orientation of digitalswitzerland is being underlined with an expansion of the initiative in Western Switzerland, Ticino and in the region of Basel as well as the launch of the EducationDigital web platform (search engine for training and education offers across Switzerland within the digital area). At the same time, the target group focus is being expanded to include smaller and medium-sized Swiss companies from all sectors. For SMEs, especially those involved in exports or endeavoring to expand abroad, digitization that is in line with a company’s demands, is essential in order to stay competitive.
Together with Google Switzerland, Switzerland Global Enterprise launched the Internet platform Export Digital around one year ago, which focuses on assisting export-oriented SMEs during the setup, optimization and implementation of their digital strategies, and which so far has generated a great deal of interest from the Swiss export sector. S-GE can now also make use of this know-how for Swiss SMEs in relation to digitalswitzerland. For example, valuable synergies can be exploited and a broad knowledge base and network can be ensured, which can help Swiss SMEs to drive forward their digitization activities profitably while allowing them to be refined in a targeted manner.
