The Human Development Report (HDR) is an annual milestone published by the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The rankings are based on three basic areas — life expectancy, education and income/standard of living. In 2015, Switzerland secures the third spot behind Norway and Australia.

Switzerland comes out first in the latest Young Worker Index by PricewaterhouseCoopers, outperforming Germany and Austria. Published by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Young Workers Index assesses how well OECD countries are developing the economic potential of their young people. The index is a weighted average of eight indicators that reflect the labor market activity and educational participation of people aged under 25 in 34 OECD countries.
The IMD World Talent Report is based on 20 years’ worth of competitiveness-related data, including an in-depth survey of more than 4,000 executives in the 61 countries covered by the study. In the 2015 edition, Switzerland leads the way in developing, attracting and retaining talent to satisfy corporate needs.
Switzerland ranks second in the Legatum Prosperity Index for the third time in a row. The index assesses how prosperous an economy is based on more than just macroeconomic factors – also taking into account wellbeing. The index ranks 142 countries across eight categories: the Economy, Entrepreneurship & Opportunity; Governance; Education; Health; Safety & Security; Personal Freedom; and Social Capital.
For the first time, Switzerland has topped the World’s Most Positive Country Index, leaving the second and third spot to Sweden and China respectively. The alpine country jumped to the first place from last year’s fourth position mostly thanks to its consistent display of competitiveness in nurturing innovation and talent.
Renowned brand valuation and strategy consultancy Brand Finance released the 2015 edition of its Nation Brands report which measures the strength and value of the nation brands of 100 leading countries. Between 2014 and 2015, Switzerland has moved up the Nation Brand Strength ranking from 3rd to 2nd place – scoring a brand strength index (BSI) of 89.5 over 100 and a triple-A brand rating.

The latter presents and analyzes the latest trends in corporate location selection around the world, providing the most realistic and up-to-date reflection of expansion and relocation behavior of companies, as well as the degree in which countries and regions around the world are successful in attracting new business.
2015 is a turning point for Swiss higher education and more specifically for the ETH Zurich – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. For the first time, a Swiss school enters the top 10 of renowned QS Ranking, among exclusively British and US American elite universities. The QS World University Ranking lists the world's top universities produced by Quacquarelli Symonds and published annually since 2004.
