THE-Ranking 2014: Swiss universities at the forefront

Swiss universities perform utterly well in the eleventh «Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014-2015» (THE-Ranking). The ETH Zürich did particularly well, moving up one spot since last year to position 13.

In the latest «THE-Ranking», Swiss universities are strongly represented: Eight universities have been ranked in the top 300. While the ETH Zürich is ranked 13th (+1), the EPFL Lausanne also was capable to move up three positions and now occupies rank 34. The University of Basel gained one place as well and positions itself on the 75th place. Moreover, the Universities of Zürich on rank 101 (+20), Geneva on rank 107 (+17) and Berne on rank 132 (+25) climbed the rankings.

In order to evaluate the universities, data for 13 domains have been collected. Thereby, indicators such as teaching environment, research volume and impact, contribution of research by the private sector as well as the internationality are rated.
