The Interdisciplinary Center for Artificial Intelligence (ICAI) at OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences has developed an innovative system for physiotherapy. This can monitor in real time whether patients are performing their exercises correctly, as was reported in a press release. It is based on artificial intelligence and uses a camera, which allows a pose to be detected. Feedback can then be issued directly via the monitor.

Currently, the monitoring of physiotherapy exercises is above all carried out by specialists themselves. This is expensive, time-consuming and there are often not enough experts available. The new solution hopes to help remedy this situation.

The potential of the research project has now also been recognized by a jury of experts. ICAI was a proud finalist in the Organisation category of the LEADER Digital Award (LDA). A total of 43 digital projects from Eastern Switzerland were submitted for the Award.
