There is no doubt that international business is becoming increasingly complex: interruptions in supply chains, geopolitical conflicts, or more difficult access to the EU market pose challenges for companies. At the same time, Swiss foreign trade continues to be of enormous importance for the high level of prosperity in our country. It is therefore obvious that internationally active Swiss SMEs need the best possible access to foreign markets. SMEs especially need be able to identify and exploit new business opportunities abroad in an uncomplicated manner - and administrative hurdles such as customs clearance must not be allowed to pose any obstacles. This is precisely where S-GE sees an important task in export promotion: Swiss SMEs should be supported with uncomplicated services tailored to their individual needs.
Whilst the Cleantech CUBE services as both a shop window for Swiss cleantech companies and as an essential resource for the cleantech team to support and engage with companies according to business sector and export destination tools for you to develop exports are essential too.
Go Global Cockpit: Uncomplicated and around the clock. Digitization offers enormous potential in this regard: In recent years, S-GE has developed with partners and has further developed online-based export promotion. One example is the interactive online platform "GoGlobal Cockpit." The free tool can be seen as a kind of personal guide for one's own export business and provides companies with the following information: Comparison of country markets, local framework conditions such as average wages and rules for the deployment of Swiss employees on site, export-related information such as customs tariffs and taxes, checklists for export modalities.
The advantages of the digital tool are obvious: Swiss SMEs receive concrete support for their export business around the clock – support that is self-service, easily accessible and easy to understand.
S-GE launched the "GoGlobal Cockpit" in April 2020. As of the end of 2021, the platform counted around 735 active companies - 5% of all individual services are already provided via the tool today. Due to the high demand, S-GE has further expanded the GoGlobal Cockpit at the end of last year. Companies can now access over 10,000 "Business Opportunities". The database can be searched for general market insights on individual topics and countries, investment programs, specific projects or tenders. In this respect it is a complement to the Matchmaking platform that some of the companies in the CUBE may have used in the past.
