A report made by KPMG, the “competitive alternatives 2016”, positioned Mexico as the number one among the top 10 cost competitive countries, considering: labor, facility, transportation & utility costs, as well as taxes. Mexico ranks first in all sectors and offers savings of 21.2% in the manufacture of medical instruments.
Opportunities for Swiss companies
Mexico is very interested in obtaining new investment partners that have technology and knowledge to meet the demand in the country. Euromonitor International ranks both Mexico and Switzerland among the 10 countries that are expected to lead the medical equipment manufacturing growth over 2017-2025. The main reason for both countries to become allies is to strengthen their presence in the industry. The Medical Device market has a very strong demand as well as the highest investment in innovation and technical know-how, which are expected to be the main drivers of exceptional growth.
