The assignment is to develop detailed plans and strategies for the development of public transport services and central area traffic management for Can Tho City within the context of the existing Master Plan. The consultant will review the forecasts and propose alternative strategies to adapt to the projected development over time, including considering the creation of a more compact urban layout with focus on the existing core area, and with new development, in two corridors to the north and south, within a radius of about 10 km of the center, in areas protected from potential floods.
Development of public transport services and central area traffic development
The plan is to inherit the approved studies or results of the master plan, to establish orientations and propose a number of specific solutions and roadmaps for the development of Can Tho urban public transport in a sustainable direction. This will include the diversification of public transport types with high service quality, high volume of transport, restrictions on motor vehicle use, improvement of parking infrastructure and control, institution building capacity, facilities for the center of public transport management and intelligent transport systems (ITS) applications for the administration of City public transport.
