Following the completion of test drives with maximum safety, Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey section is planned to be commissioned at the beginning of 2020. The second stage, Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy line, is intended to be commissioned in 2021 with passengers.
Comissioning in three stages from 2019 - 2020

New lines will be determined and the tender will start
In addition, as a result of the evaluations it is planned to determine the priority lines of the rail system metro lines to start the new tenders. The status of the railway system lines, which were tendered but stopped due to economic reasons, is being reviewed. These projects will be accelerated again within the framework of a new program.
Opportunities for Swiss companies in Istanbul
Considering the importance of the rail system in Istanbul transportation, these lines are aimed to be completed and commissioned quickly. Investment opportunities exist in different areas for the Swiss SMEs. Among others, this project is especially interesting for construction and supplier companies.
