Nestling between the Säntis massif and the seven peaks of the Churfirsten lies the idyllic village of Toggenburg. For more than 85 years, this unspoiled paradise has been where the Kägi factory produces its crisp waffle and cookie specialties, which in the last few decades have made their way not only to the countries neighboring Switzerland, but also to the Middle East, Asia and the USA. Even Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe is supposed to have been a Kägi fan!
How it all began…
In 1934 Otto Kägi Senior set up his bakery in Lichtensteig, thus laying the foundation for Kägi Söhne AG. For Otto Senior, baking his products was not merely a job but a calling, a passion that he passed on to his three sons and thus, even today, 85 years later, to each and every employee at the factory. The light and crispy specialties from Kägi are a lifelong favorite among many people. Particularly that first bite into the Kägi fret, created back in 1958, is for many people a taste of constancy. Our secret is the chocolate that we make ourselves in the Kägi factory and to which we dedicate the utmost care and attention. Kägi thus coherently combines tradition and innovation, and everybody here at Kägi finds genuine joy in preserving the fine recipes and the outstanding quality. After all, we take great pride in our most special ingredient – a little taste of happiness in every bite!
Swiss chocolate waffles
Kägi is known primarily for its fine, crispy-light chocolate waffles. These are produced in various versions and sizes for any occasion. Butter biscuits and now also the Swiss chocolate bar Kägi MÄX are part of the range, bringing happiness to people all over the world.
