How it all began – looking back in history
Since 1890, RAUSCH, like no other, has been dedicated to hair and skin care based on selected herbal and plant extracts. It was Josef Wilhelm Rausch (1867 – 1935), German master hairdresser, who founded the RAUSCH company in 1890 and shortly thereafter launched the first liquid shampoo “Champooing”. This gained him the appointment of purveyor to the Princes of Hohenzollern. Rausch soon realized that the origin of beautiful hair is where its roots are – namely the scalp. He sourced his knowledge of the power of herbs for hair and skin from the monasteries and books of the Benedictine monks, meticulously refining the century-old science of medicinal herbs. His tireless research of tinctures and extracts today forms the basis of the majority of the RAUSCH range of products. Some recipes have remained much the same ever since. The company has been owned by the Baumann family since 1949.
Unique and distinctive due to the best raw materials and the best quality
RAUSCH guarantees the highest possible percentage of natural active ingredients from 87 herbal extracts and top quality nut and plant oils. The herbal specialists use superior quality, mild plant-based surfactants, which are obtained from coconut oil, palm kernel oil, cornstarch and quillaja bark. 43 herbal extracts are produced in-house using RAUSCH’s own gentle, unadulterated methods, carefully adapted for each individual plant. Most of the herbs are supplied by Swiss contract farmers who are committed to organic farming and whose products are subject to continuous monitoring.
Every drop of a RAUSCH product is a real drop of love because the different combinations of herbs help solve every individual hair problem. The 70 products now available under the RAUSCH label – all of which are cruelty-free and all but two vegan – offer optimum benefits as effective, gentle trouble-shooters and beautify every sort of hair and skin. As brand-name products they are available from specialist retailers with consulting competence and from selected drugstores in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy, as well as in 23 other countries around the globe.
