These Swiss products left the harbor of Basel at the beginning of August and have since arrived in the US. After passing customs, they were distributed to Fairway Market’s 15 stores. The opening ceremony will take place on October 5. The suppliers will travel to the US for the occasion, and during the subsequent two-week product demo they will have the opportunity to get direct feedback from customers, visit other supermarket chains and meet with other potential partners.
Representatives of Fairway Market decided which Swiss products would be sold in the US for the six-month period during a visit to Switzerland in the spring of this year. The Swiss SMEs were supported by the Federation of Swiss Food Industries (fial), Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Swiss Business Hub USA.
Among the winning products are various foods and beverages from different regions that will represent Switzerland in Fairways Market’s stores.
