funders.ch is a platform where initiators can present their projects and raise money for them by specifying a financial target that will help them realize their projects. The platform was launched by the Luzerner Kantonalbank in June 2016, and 100 projects have already been presented on it to date – 73.6 per cent of which have reached their funding target. They have raised a total of 1,066,153 Swiss francs from 4,700 supporters, meaning that funders.ch broke the one million mark in mid-November.
One of the most successful projects comes from SC Kriens, which raised a total of 281,944 francs for the interior construction of its football stadium. It exceeded its financing target by 45 per cent. Six-digit sums were also raised by Tramhüsli in Emmenbrücke (120,000 francs) and the electric bicycle company AureusDrive (145,000 francs).
The Nidwaldner, Obwaldner, Thurgauer and Berner Kantonalbanks are also now cooperating with the platform. In 2018, the Luzerner Kantonalbank plans to introduce another form of financing on the platform called crowdlending, which is aimed primarily at SME
