The jury of the International Sports Awards has named the diving tower “Sports Venue of the Year 2017”, announced Nüssli in a statement.

The company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea built the temporary construction for the FINA Swimming World Championships, which were held in Budapest in July. The structure was 35.5 metres high and housed five diving platforms.

Men jumped from a maximum height of 27 metres, and women from 20 metres, into a round pool with a depth of six metres.

Nüssli specialises in temporary structures, such as the stages for the Thunerseespiele and the Openair Frauenfeld music festival. As well as planning and realizing projects, Nüssli manages them and handles their deconstruction.

The company dates back more than 75 years to 1941, when Heini Nüssli founded a craft workshop. It has since become an internationally active company with 450 employees and more than 20 sites worldwide, where it realizes around 2,000 projects every year.
