New addresses for information about customs tariffs

The Federal Customs Administration provides information on binding tariffs via email. Enquiries must, however, be submitted using a standardized enquiry form. From April 1, 2018, new addresses will be used for enquiries.

Zolltarifauskunft

As announced by the Federal Customs Administration, the previous central address “ozd.zolltarif@ezv.admin.ch” will no longer be valid for email enquiries as of April 1, 2018. Depending on the applicant’s language or domicile, enquiries must be directed to the following addresses:

Italian-speaking or from the canton TI or from Italy:
centrale.div-tariffa@ezv.admin.ch

French-speaking or from the cantons GE, VD, NE, FR, VS or from France:
centrale.diii-tarif@ezv.admin.ch

German-speaking from the cantons BE, JU, SO, BL, S, LU, OW, NW, AG or from Germany:
zentrale.di-tarif@ezv.admin.ch

German-speaking from the cantons ZH, SH, TG, SG, AR, AI, ZG, UR, SZ, GL, GR, from the Principality of Liechtenstein or from countries other than France, Italy or Germany:
zentrale.dii-tarif@ezv.admin.ch

English-speaking:
zentrale.dii-tarif@ezv.admin.ch

To make a customs tariff enquiry to the Swiss Federal Customs Administration, an enquiry form must be completed with the following information:

  • Description of the goods with details of
    - type and properties,
    - presentation and/or packaging and
    - intended use;
  • For goods made of different substances, the composition (formulation) with the proportions of the individual components by weight (%);
  • Internet links and references to specialist literature;
  • High-resolution or good-quality photos;
  • Catalogs (or excerpts thereof), leaflets, instruction manuals, product sheets, plans, information on the manufacturing process and other relevant documents.
