Playtrip impressed the jury of the national Creative Business Cup competition to be named the Swiss champion. The startup from Agra in the canton of Ticino will now compete for the international Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen in November, where the winner will receive 7,000 euros in prize money and two months of free office space in ALLEY, a co-working office for creative types.

Playtrip launched an app in June that makes it easier for travellers to create videos of their travel experiences. The app includes features from augmented or virtual reality. But the app does more than simply help travellers create videos: It also acts as a digital editorial platform that aims to help spread travel videos. Videos published on Playtrip can be even used as a marketing tool to help draw attention to lesser-known regions.

“Winning the national finals proves that our ideas has a great potential,” said Matteo Scarpellini, co-founder of Playtrip, in an article on startupticker.ch.

Creative Business Cup is a Danish innovation and creative competition that aims to network and promote companies around the world. The national competition in Switzerland was organised by Creative Hub.
