Export: Adjustments to supplier declarations

In Switzerland, a new validity period applies to supplier declarations under a free trade agreement: Instead of one year as before, they can now be valid for up to two years, according to the Swiss Federal Customs Administration.

Another adjustment concerns the signature requirement, which has been lifted. Companies no longer have to sign supplier declarations and can transmit them electronically. However, according to the Federal Customs Administration, a signature may continue to be significant with regard to possible liability disputes.

Supplier declarations serve as proof of origin for products or primary materials procured domestically. Detailed information on the latest regulations can be found here (in German).
