Switzerland is regarded as the most attractive country in the world for top talent. In the Global Talent Competitiveness Index, Switzerland has been ranked number one for the sixth consecutive year. The study was compiled by the graduate business school Insead in collaboration with the recruitment agency Adecco and the Human Capital Leadership Institute in Singapore and published ahead of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
There are various factors contributing to Switzerland once again being placed in the top spot. These include high salaries and career opportunities putting the country in a strong position for the retention of talent. Switzerland’s dual training and education system was also rated highly. In the country ranking, Switzerland is followed by Singapore, the USA, Norway and Denmark. As in previous years, the higher a country comes in the rankings, the higher the income level on the whole.
In addition to individual countries, the appeal of cities is also examined in the context of this study. The city of Zurich was placed fifth in the world, with only Washington, Copenhagen, Oslo and Vienna ahead in the rankings. Zurich had been at number one the year before.
