Sulzer & Schmid Laboratories and NNAISENSE intend to collaborate to develop a solution for the inspection of rotor blades on wind turbines, as was reported in an article on startupticker.ch. Sulzer Schmid has already developed drones that can autonomously fly round the rotor blades and take high-definition images. These drones will now be made even more intelligent through the expertise of NNAISENSE. The upgrades will add other capabilities such as the ability to establish damage categories and severity levels using artificial intelligence. Maintenance will be quicker and easier as a result.

With Sulzer Schmid and NNAISENSE, two companies from the Greater Zurich Area are joining forces. Sulzer Schmid was founded in 2016 and is based in Oetwil am See ZH. The company’s drones are currently in use for rotor blade inspections throughout Europe. NNAISENSE has offices in Lugano and the USA. The company develops artificial intelligence solutions for intelligent automation processes in industry, for example.
