PARK INNOVAARE is an innovation park next to the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), which offers workspace for innovative startup companies. It is planning to build a new campus with state-of-the-art facilities for research and development, which will meet the needs of PSI researchers, big companies and startups. Across a surface area of 38,000 square metres, it will contain clean rooms, vibration-free research laboratories, and various office spaces.

The building permit for the new campus was granted some time ago. Now, PARK INNOVAARE has secured financing for the project. According to a statement, it has concluded an investment agreement with CPV/CAP Pensionskasse Coop. With the financing of construction works secured, said Remo Lütolf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of innovAARE AG, the breakthrough has been achieved and PARK INNOVAARE can be realized as planned.

Benno Rechsteiner, who has been CEO of PARK INNOVAARE for the past year, also expressed his delight about the investment agreement. “For me personally, this means that, in close cooperation with our industrial and academic partners and the Paul Scherrer Institute, we will be creating an attractive environment with national and international appeal for innovation-driven start-ups, SMEs and the research departments of large corporations,” he said. He added that as part of Switzerland Innovation, “we have a great brand, a broad base, and a well-functioning network”.

PARK INNOVAARE expects the new building to be ready for occupancy in 2023.
