According to a press release, SoftwareONE is planning an IPO to list its shares on the SIX Swiss Exchange later on this year. The aim here is said to be to raise the visibility and global profile of the company. The founding shareholders will jointly retain the largest stake in the company even after the IPO.
SoftwareONE is one of the largest resellers of Microsoft products. The company also operates software from SAP, IBM, Oracle and other providers. This allows SoftwareONE to select and purchase the most suitable software solution for its customers, before taking care of the software licenses as well. In addition, SoftwareONE also offers ever more services, for example cloud-based solutions.
SoftwareONE was founded in 2000 by Daniel von Stockar and Patrick Winter. The Stans-based company currently employs approximately 5,300 staff and boasts service delivery capabilities in 90 countries. It serves around 65,000 business customers around the world. In 2018, SoftwareONE generated a gross profit (pro forma) of 724 million Swiss francs.
“The planned IPO marks an important milestone in the development of SoftwareONE”, comments Daniel von Stockar in the press release. “I am extremely proud of what our team has achieved since our founding almost 20 years ago. Our clear focus on software and cloud, our truly global reach and our entrepreneurial and customer-oriented spirit have been the cornerstones of our success”.
