Start-ups in the canton of Vaud raised CHF 400 million in 2019

Nearly CHF 400 million have already been raised by start-ups since the beginning of the year thanks to the support of the canton of Vaud's innovation agency Innovaud.

Created in 2013 at the initiative of the canton of Vaud and its founding members, the innovation agency Innovaud has obtained a significant growth in the amounts raised for the start-ups it has accompanied. Since the beginning of 2019, start-ups receiving support from the agency have been able to raise more than CHF 400 million, compared to CHF 270 million for the whole year 2018.

The Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT), the financing entity of the Innovaud platform, has already contributed CHF 3.9 million towards 30 start-up projects. In addition, the 25 "hyper-growth" start-ups supported by Innovaud have created more than 2,500 jobs worldwide (including 1,400 in Switzerland) since the beginning of their activities.

A facilitated access to international markets

In 2019, more than 40 start-ups were selected or coached by Innovaud to participate in major global events, including CES Las Vegas, CES Asia and SLUSH.

Innovaud is the innovation agency of the canton of Vaud. It offers free support to start-ups, scale-ups and innovative SMEs in the canton of Vaud and focuses on high-tech innovations or new approaches. This support includes : financing, accommodations, coaching, promotion and networking. Innovaud gives priority to helping companies in the life sciences, precision industry, cleantech and information and communication technologies (ICT) sectors. The agency's objective is to promote and support the global influence of the canton and its fields of innovation, and to attract talents and companies to the canton.
