The Indo-Swiss Healthtech Week will be held between February 17 and 19, 2020. It is being organized by Swissnex India. Connected to this, BioAsia India will also take place at the same time in Hyderabad. This is one of the largest life sciences conferences in Asia, as detailed in a press release from startupticker.ch. The Swiss delegation includes five startups that will have the chance to present their business at BioAsia India.

With the exception of PeriVision, a spin-off affiliated with the University of Bern, the startups are all based in Basel. For example, Cellestia AG, which is developing an innovative form of cancer medication. Cellestia is aiming to use the trip to India to establish contact with potential partner companies and investors. Bottmedical AG, a spin-off from the University of Basel, is working on the development of a natural polymer, which could be used to rectify mispositioned teeth. The company is also developing an extremely flat nano-sensor, the aim of which is to treat sleep apnea syndrome. As is the case with Cellestia and Bottmedical, Artidis is also based at the Technologiepark Basel, where the spin-off from the University of Basel is focused on developing a nano-needle for the removal of tissue samples. This should serve the purposes of identifying malignant cancers in less than three hours.

The fourth participant from Basel is Noul, which is based in Allschwil. The startup is working on a fully automated device for the diagnosis of malaria. In India, Noul is hoping to attract buyers for its development. The startups are being accompanied by Prof. Dr. Hans-Florian Zeilhofer and Christian Elias Schneider, both of whom are representatives of the Innovation Office at the University of Basel.

As a part of the delegation from the foreign trade promotion group Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), the local business promotion organization BaselArea.swiss will also be represented at BioAsia India with the aim of promoting the business location of Basel. BaselArea.swiss is also the operator behind the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area.
