In Haag, Sulzer is represented by the subsidiary Sulzer Mixpac AG, where plastic components are manufactured for packaging, mixing and dosing applications. Sulzer has now announced plans to invest a total of 6.6 million Swiss francs in its St.GallenBodenseeArea location, as detailed in an article published in Tagblatt. Gerald Fleisch, Head of Marketing, explained the company’s rationale behind this investment to the newspaper by citing the strong, unabated growth in demand for injection-molded plastic products manufactured by Sulzer Mixpac as well as a desire to keep transportation routes as short as possible. In this context, the previous Eschen-based facility in Liechtenstein has already been integrated into the Haag production plant.

This location is now to be expanded further by way of the investment plan. Firstly, a new building is to be constructed and, secondly, existing production facilities are also to be expanded. The relocation of the Eschen site has seen a total of 32 injection-molding machines newly stationed in Haag, with the 28 Eschen-based employees now also working out of Haag. This has seen the workforce in Haag rise to just under 400 employees. According to comments made by Gerald Fleisch to Tagblatt, things are progressing very well indeed for Sulzer Mixpac.
