Zurich is the most forward-looking city in Europe according to a study conducted by HomeToGo, a Germany-based search engine for vacation rentals. It compared 100 European cities, 29 of which made it into the top list, and used three key measures in its study: technology, sustainability and internet connectivity.
As HomeToGo explains, Zurich stood out for having the highest proportion of technology-led companies of any city. It was also the fourth highest ranked city in the sustainability and connectivity categories. Combined, these strong performances were enough to land Zurich in first place. Stockholm and Copenhagen came in second and third place respectively.
‘Progressive’ Scandinavia performed well in the ranking, with one city from each Scandinavian country ranking in the top four. Oslo, which came in fourth place, was named the best connected city. A total of 95.7% of all properties listed in the Norwegian capital have a strong wifi connection. The UK had the highest number of cities in the top ranking.
