Rinco Ultrasonics working overtime

At the start of April, production lines at Rinco Ultrasonics AG were still subject to short-time working hours. Now, however, the manufacturers of ultrasound welding machines are working full steam ahead. The systems are in demand from international medical companies.

Following the officially ordered lockdown, Rinco Ultrasonics initially shut down its machines, as revealed in a “Tagblatt” article. At the start of April, the manufacturer of ultrasound welding and cutting machines based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea then began operating short-time working hours. At the same time, the company was on the lookout for new orders.

And Rinco Ultrasonics was not forced to wait too long for these to come in, the report states. In fact, new records for incoming orders were set, above all due to companies from the medical sector and protective mask manufacturers. At the moment, the company is operating to a double-shift schedule and has employed three additional staff members.

“We are currently producing 200 systems for Scandinavia, 150 for Germany and a handful destined for Russia and Brazil”, comments Serge Patamia, CEO von Rinco Ultrasonics, in the report. He is happy that his machines are able to “contribute to the fight against coronavirus”.

The fact that Rinco Ultrasonics put into operation a new extension covering 1,000 square meters of storage and production area at the start of April is described as a “stroke of luck” in the report. The company has also housed its ultrasound competence center here. Serge Patamia wanted to stay in the region and therefore opted to expand the existing location. “Swissness is known the world over, and for this reason we were committed to keeping production in Romanshorn”, he explains.
