The commitment of SFS to the automotive industry is paying off. SFS has successfully positioned itself as a preferred development partner for customers in this industry, as the specialist for mechanical fastening systems and precision components with headquarters in Heerbrugg reported in a press release. The ongoing electrification of vehicles has proven to be an attractive and growing business area. SFS has acquired new projects for assemblies used in electronic brake systems.

SFS is now investing in the expansion of its production capacities. The investment volume for the new production facility in Heerbrugg will amount to between 25 and 30 million francs. Preparations are already underway and construction is scheduled to begin in early 2021.

Business at SFS with customers in the automotive industry continued to pick up in July and August. As a result, merely a mid-single-digit percentage decline was recorded when comparing the Group’s sales in these two months with the corresponding sales from the previous year. Earnings also developed positively.
