Swiss21 has developed a modular software suite for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups. The aim here is twofold: firstly, the modular design allows the software package to be continually expanded, while secondly, users have the option of using only certain software modules. The software is available free of charge to both SMEs and start-ups provided that their business activities do not exceed certain pre-defined benchmarks. For online shops, for example, this benchmark is equal to 2,100 articles. Swiss21 first launched this software suite back in November 2018, with the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea now already able to boast a total of 30,000 users for its service, as detailed in a press release. Since April 2020 alone, the company has registered a 25 percent increase in accounts and users.

In order to offer this software suite, Swiss21 works with a series of partners. In this context, for example, Swiss21 relies on the AbaNinja accountancy software developed by Abacus, a company based in Wittenbach in the canton of St. Gallen. Originally, Swiss21 also offered integrated banking connections to Raiffeisen Bank St.Gallen and the Cantonal Bank of St.Gallen in its package, although the press release explains that “automated settling processes for bank transactions is now possible with more than 70 regional and national financial service providers”.

Today, users have numerous modular applications at their disposal, from which they are able to assemble their custom software package. In addition to accountancy, the online shop and payment solutions, a time logging software solution is now also available. By the end of this year, “a comprehensive package for personnel administration and payroll accounting” is set to supplement the product portfolio of Swiss21.
