Metrohm has announced a “major extension” to its headquarters in Herisau. The project, which is part of the company’s strategy to grow its business significantly over the coming years, expected to create 250 additional jobs in R&D and manufacturing over the next 10 years. Groundwork will begin next year.
Metrohm, which develops chemical analysis instruments, spectrometers and laboratory automation software, intends to continue to develop and manufacture the core segments of its future portfolios in Switzerland. This is why the company has decided to expand its headquarters, which it describes as a “long-term commitment to its global customers and employees”.
According to the press release, Metrohm’s financial independence has enabled it to stay on track with its visionary projects despite the current challenges facing the global economy.
Founded in 1943 in Herisau, Metrohm has been owned by Metrohm Stiftung since 1982, a foundation that is dedicated to promoting scientific education, cultural events and the local economy of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden.
