HSG again ranks among European elite

The University of St.Gallen (HSG) has again been ranked among the ten best European business schools. However, HSG has lost some ground in the rankings compiled by the Financial Times. In another league table, the School of Management at HSG was able to successfully defend top spot.

The Financial Times has ranked the University of St.Gallen in 7th place in its most recent league table for European business schools. HSG has therefore fallen three places versus last year. This is nevertheless the eighth successive year in which HSG has made the top ten, as detailed in a press release. First place went to HEC Paris, just ahead of the London Business School. HSG is the top-ranked business school in the German-speaking world.

“The consistent claim to offer education at the highest international level has always been a priority for the University of St.Gallen”, comments Bernhard Ehrenzeller, President of HSG, in the press release. He adds: “We can also be proud to be once again the best-placed public university in this Financial Times evaluation”.

The rankings are designed to reflect the “all-round strength” of a university. To this end, four individual evaluations are combined. HSG secured first place for its Master in Strategy and International Management. In addition, the university was ranked in 18th place for both the full-time MBA and in the rankings for Executive Education, as well as securing 20th place for its Executive MBA.

At the same time, the HSG School of Management successfully defended top spot in the new rankings compiled by the business magazine “Wirtschaftswoche”. The publication again presented the rankings for the most research-oriented business administration faculties in the German-speaking world.
