Arbonia investing in digitization

Building component supplier Arbonia is to fully acquire Webcom Management Holding GmbH. Arbonia is consequently investing in the digitization of the window market.

Arbonia is acquiring the remaining share of 65 percent in Webcom Management Holding GmbH, as was reported in a press release from the company based in St.GallenBodenseeArea. Webcom will be incorporated in the Windows Division. The German company will be expanded and ultimately fully integrated into Arbonia. Webcom has multiple online platforms for construction elements or windows and doors. In 2017, Arbonia had acquired a 35 percent stake in the company.

With the acquisition of the remaining share, Arbonia has secured further expertise in the areas of digitization, software development and e-commerce. Arbonia plans to grow the product portfolio of the Windows Division available online and invest in the digitization of the window market. In Germany, vinyl windows are already being sold through online shops. This business model will be expanded to other markets in the years ahead. With the full acquisition of Webcom, Arbonia is developing its sales model and becoming a multi-channel provider, the press release explains.

Founders and Managing Directors of Webcom, Sebastian Bauer and Michael Scharf, will remain with Arbonia in future.
