The Austrian investment fund Round2 Capital has invested a seven-figure sum in Avallain AG, as detailed in a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. The company is active in the areas of e-learning and EdTech, and focuses on developing technologies that facilitate electronic or digital learning. With the fresh capital, Avallain intends to expand its “product development pipeline for corporate use cases”. In specific terms, the aim here is to further develop the Avallain Magnet product, which was conceived especially for further training and instruction courses in the corporate area. In addition, Avallain will be looking to strengthen its international market presence.

“Avallain is a leading European player in the EdTech market”, comments Christian Czernich, co-founder and CEO of Round2 Capital Partners, in the press release. He adds: “Founders Ursula Suter and Ignatz Heinz show a strong track record of independently building their business and establishing an impressive customer base, particularly in the academic market. We are happy to provide the growth capital to expand their offerings to the corporate world”.

In return, Round2 Capital will be entitled to a small share of Avallain’s sales until a pre-defined ceiling is reached. For its part, Avallain will benefit from growth help “without personal guarantees or rigid repayment schedules and without dilution of ownership”. Ursula Suter, co-founder of Avallain AG, was quoted in the press release, stating: “Both the long-term trends and the immediate COVID situation demonstrate the need for and fast-growing adoption of advanced EdTech solutions such as those we have offered since 2002. Our tools offer tremendous potential benefits that our market and our audience are greatly in need of”. She concluded that Round2 represents an attractive option for entrepreneurs like herself “who strive to achieve significant growth without prematurely diluting our brand or ceding control”.
