For root canal treatments, Coltene has developed a fully automated endo motor known as the CanalPro Jeni. According to a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, this motor has the capacity to autonomously navigate its way through the root canal during this type of treatment. The company ran successfully an update of the relevant software, thereby also expanding the application options for users.

The update has firstly shortened the reaction time of the motor itself in addition to the connected touch screen, while secondly offering enhanced system performance and optimized graphics. Coltene’s overarching aim here was to make treatment safer and more comfortable for patients. Moreover, additional files such as the HyFlex and MicroMega 30/.07 Remover can now also be deployed with the endo motor. With both files able to adapt to the natural contours of the root canal, this should help to further simplify treatments in this area.

Coltene has also produced a short film to present the latest improvements to the CanalPro Jeni.
