The maxon Group, which is based in the canton of Obwalden, and Fourier Intelligence headquartered in Singapore, have announced that they have agreed terms on a global strategic partnership. Electric motors manufactured by maxon are already being used in the exoskeletons developed by Fourier Intelligence. According to a press release covering their collaboration, the two companies will now be combining their respective areas of expertise with the aim of developing additional products and platforms.
In future, maxon will be part of the Exoskeleton & Robotics Open Platform System (EXOPS) operated by Fourier. As part of this, maxon will be making a wide range of custom drive options with motors, gears, encoders and controllers available to prospective engineers developing robotics solutions to be used in rehab services.
