The Times Higher Education magazine has released its ranking list of the best universities in the world once more. The ETH comes in 15th position, making it the best university outside of the UK and the USA. The ETH ranked 14th last year.
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) was able to gain three places in the rankings, making it to 40th place. In addition, another Swiss institute, the University of Zurich, also made it into the top 100 universities. It came in 75th place.
Oxford University in the UK topped the list of the best universities once again. Second place was shared by the California Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
Times Higher Education assesses universities based on 13 indicators, including teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international orientation. In total, 1,662 universities across 99 countries were considered when creating the ranking.
