Bühler AG has officially broken ground in the construction of its new Energy & Manufacturing Technology Center in Uzwil in the canton of St.Gallen. The building, which is located directly adjacent to the Cubic Innovation Campus opened in 2018, underlines the Technology group’s long-term renewal strategy, according to a press release. The new center is set to open in the second quarter of 2023.
The building will firstly function as an energy center. The center for “good, positive energy” is designed to become the central hub for vocational training and professional development in addition to preventative healthcare activities. Here, young men and women will be trained in the areas of plant engineering, polymechanics, automation and IT. The center will also be accessible to external partners.
“We are committed to the successful model of our vocational training and lifelong learning. Furthermore, we are expanding our healthcare expertise much more strongly and making a further contribution to keeping Uzwil attractive as a business location”, comments Christof Oswald, Head of Human Resources at Bühler, in the press release. Overall, the Energy Center should make Bühler more attractive as an employer.
The second part of the new building, the Manufacturing Technology Center, will accommodate the areas of innovation and prototype construction. “Here, we will manufacture innovations for our customers as pilot projects, which we will later also introduce in other production plants worldwide”, explains Andreas Schachtner, Head of Business Development in Manufacturing, Logistics & Supply Chain at Bühler, in the press release.
