Smino has managed to impress a series of investors with its building information modelling (BIM) platform. The start-up from the St.GallenBodenseeArea successfully closed a Series A financing round having secured investment in the amount of 3.1 million Swiss francs, further details of which can be found in a press release.

In actual fact, smino is a service offered by BBC Systems AG. The platform functions as a data hub for construction projects, with plans now in place to further develop it. “The smino team really impressed both us and our partners with its comprehensive software solution for construction project management”, comments Manfred Heid, Managing Partner of the investment firm BitStone Capital, in the press release. “We are delighted to support the team together with our co-investors as they expand into new markets and develop the platform into a digital project assistant”.

BitStone Capital led the financing round, while other investors involved in the process included EquityPitcher Ventures, Swiss Startup Capital, Session VC, Swiss Immo Lab, AXEPT Business Software AG and Conreal. Guy Giuffredi from Swiss Startup Capital is full of praise for the way in which smino has managed to “generate rapid growth and position itself as a key player in the construction industry”, before adding: “Now attention turns to growth plans, and we are convinced that this exceptional team will manage this quickly and successfully”.

The expansion is set to initially take place in Switzerland and Europe. In future, smino is also keen to integrate applications on the basis of Artificial Intelligence (AI), as co-founder Sandor Balogh explains. “The Series A round enables us to expand our market leadership in Switzerland and secure international growth. A further branch will be set up in Germany specifically for the European region”, he comments.
