LAC², the Lucerne AI Cognitive Community, has formally been established. The official launch took place at an event in Lucerne on April 21 according to a press release on LinkedIn. This artificial intelligence center is a non-profit association. The aim is to support companies, institutions, and individuals to create added value through the use of AI.

Furthermore, according to the new AI center’s website, which was launched one month ago, it plans to provide world-class applied AI technologies and make these easier to access. Attracting skilled workers and creating a flourishing ecosystem are envisaged as bridges to future added value. Additionally, LAC² plans to serve as a blueprint for future hubs of this type in Switzerland.

LAC² co-founder and CEO of 4th-IR, Thomas Gustinis, states: “LAC² partners with firms like 4th-IR and leading academic institutions including Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) to bridge the gap between commercialization and academia - offering participants a view of the future of AI today.”

Dana Brice Smith, who is responsible for strategic communication at LAC² and is the co-founder of Moov Airways AG, comments: “There’s no question that AI continues to transform the world we live in and LAC² is creating a flourishing multi-stakeholder AI ecosystem in Central Switzerland that will build a bridge to future value generation – for both business and society.”
