Model developing display for minute bread

The Thurgau-based packaging specialist Model has developed a POS display for the “minute bread” developed by the German start-up Dulanda. By bringing together cross-border competencies, a new design was produced within the space of just two months.

Dulanda, a start-up based in the German city of Düsseldorf, is using a retail display developed by the Model Group to present its minute bread – a bread packed with nutrients that can be cooked in the oven in a matter of minutes. The international manufacturer of solid and corrugated cardboard packaging solutions headquartered in the St.GallenBodenseeArea maintains more than 16 production locations in Europe. For this project, Model Germany and Model Switzerland joined forces to jointly leverage their respective competencies and expertise, further details of which can be found in a press release. Only in this way was it possible to develop a completely new POS (point of sale) display for the retail trade within just a couple of months.

“In a project with such a tight time frame as the minute bread display, excellent coordination processes internally and with the customer are particularly important”, comments Thomas Höhl, who worked on this project at Model. “That’s exactly how we came up with the display solution we had in mind”, explains Lars Hampel from Dulanda, concluding that: “The display really works very well in retail”.

The display is transported by courier from the warehouse to the destination store. According to Model, thanks to the special design, 50 percent of the folding mass has been saved in comparison with a conventional pallet solution. In addition, the customer saves on pallet rental and expensive general cargo shipping costs.
