The Innovation & Venture LAB at AMAG Group AG with headquarters in Cham in the canton of Zug and the Institute for Mobility at the University of St.Gallen (IMO-HSG) are joining forces in the area of individual sustainable movement and have founded the AMAG X IMO Lab. To this end, the partners have concluded an agreement for three years. According to a press release, this agreement also includes a PhD position.

The joint research and development activities are to include subjects such as electromobility, charging infrastructure, autonomous mobility solutions, intelligent cities, commercial mobility concepts, and mobility as a service. Mobility as a service is an important collaborative starting point for the automotive trading company as AMAG is already active in this sector with the allride app.

Andreas Herrmann, Director of the Institute for Mobility, commented in the press release: “The establishment of the AMAG X IMO Lab is a great opportunity to join forces and contribute to the sustainable development of Switzerland as a mobility location.”

Managing Director of AMAG Innovation & Venture LAB Philipp Wetzel added that the new collaboration is confirmation that AMAG has “now been able to bundle and thus strengthen the numerous joint initiatives in a forward-looking cooperation.”

AMAG specialists have already been involved with the institute as speakers in the past. Additionally, the AMAG startup Clyde is collaborating with the Future Mobility Lab from the Institute for Mobility.
