Avobis constructing business location in Hombrechtikon

From 2024, Avobis and Rimaplan, two companies in the Avobis Group AG, will build a location for commercial and production companies across an area of around 29,000 square meters at the Eichtal Park in Hombrechtikon. The sustainable project is named OakTec.

The next step in the development of the Eichtal Park business park in Hombrechtikon in the canton of Zurich is now in the works: from 2024 onwards, the two Avobis Group companies Avobis and Rimaplan will build the new OakTec business location there. Space for commercial and production companies is being created across a site of around 29,000 square meters and 20,000 square meters of usable area. An information event is set to be held on June 15 in the small community hall in Hombrechtikon.

According to a press release, the basic concept is centered around the idea of offering companies attractive, well-lit spaces that can be flexibly divided up. An inner courtyard offers access and delivery on two levels open to vehicles. This is proof of a “particularly economical use of the land”.

The construction project is being planned with sustainability in mind, according to David Belart representing Avobis: “Careful embedding in the soil reduces the excavation volume, all roof areas are either green spaces or use solar energy, the entire energy concept is based on renewable energies, and the green belt in which the area integrated promotes biodiversity”.

Mayor Rainer Odermatt has thrown his support behind the project: “We support OakTec and are keen to further strengthen the Eichtal Park as an important source of employment in the region. For this, we offer an attractive infrastructure and, together with the VZO, very good transport connections”.

According to the information in the press release, project planning work to secure the building permit is in progress at present. In addition, according to Avobis, it is currently considering whether to pursue another investment program in relation to the sub-areas located slightly further to the east, where some distinctive existing buildings are located. At some point in the future, these are to be sustainably developed.
