The logistics companies Planzer, headquartered in Dietikon in the canton of Zurich, and Galenica in Bern are joining forces to found Health Supply Ltd. According to a statement, the new company will handle the transport of medicines and other products to healthcare providers and combine the services previously provided by Planzer and Galenica. Health Supply's transport services will be temperature-controlled and will meet Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines. Planzer will own 60 per cent of the shares and Galenica 40 per cent. The parties have agreed not to disclose any further financial details.

The joint venture between Planzer and Galenica is based in Villmergen. Stefan Röösli has been appointed CEO of Health Supply AG. He spent the past 11 years as Head of Transport at Planzer Transport AG in Villmergen. “With Health Supply AG, we’re leveraging the expertise of Galenica and Planzer for the benefit of one of Switzerland’s largest systemically important sectors,” commented Röösli in the statement.

The founding of Health Supply is intended to reduce the complexity of logistics in the Swiss healthcare market. With over 20 business units, the Galenica network brings together the strongest players in Swiss healthcare. Previously, different transport companies worked together, which complicated coordination and slowed down processes, according to the Planzer statement. In addition to the two owners, Health Supply's transport services are open to other market participants.
