Bühler expands research collaboration with Bosch

Bühler and Bosch have agreed to strengthen their collaboration in the area of research, with the Internet of Things playing an important role. New products are expected for 2017.

Bühler and the Bosch subsidiary Bosch Connective Devices and Solutions have been collaborating for the past two years in the area of food process technology. As Bühler writes in a statement, the two companies signed a contract on 22 August on the occasion of the Bühler Networking Days to expand this collaboration.

“Following our successful R&D partnership, we are pleased to take the next step to form a commercial partnership,” said Johannes Wick, CEO Grains & Food at Bühler. “We are excited to utilise this partnership to create process solutions and services that improve yield and performance at reduced operating costs for our customers.”

Bosch brings to the cooperation its expertise in electronics, sensor technology and software around the Internet of Things. “We are not only optimising our own worldwide manufacturing base, we are also actively seeking to work with partners like Bühler to build a value creation network beyond company boundaries and turn Industry 4.0 into reality,” explained Thorsten Müller, CEO of Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions.

The first applications from this intensified cooperation are expected to be launched in 2017.
