Estée Lauder has been present in the canton of Schwzy for the past 40 years with its premises in Lachen. The global cosmetics company is now looking to expand. As the Höfner Volksblatt reported, at the end of the year the company will take over four storeys in one of the two pyramid-shaped office buildings in Wollerau owned by Proman Immobilien AG. There, it will centralise its regional supply chain, creating some 160 new jobs. Some of the employees will be transferred from abroad to the canton of Schwyz, others will be newly hired.
With the expansion, the company seeks to meet the growing competitive pressure on quality improvement and be in a position to react flexibly to new markets, according to the newspaper article. The expansion is also a commitment to the canton of Schwyz, allowing Estée Lauder to continue to benefit from the high living and education standards as well as the business-friendly environment.
“We’re proud to continue our long-standing commitment to the canton of Schwyz and the good relations with the authorities in Lachen and Wollerau,” said Sami Naffakh, Senior Vice President Supply Chain at Estée Lauder for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Mayor Ueli Metzger is pleased with the expansion: “This decision represents a nice confirmation of the city’s councils efforts with respect to location attractiveness”.
Headquartered in New York, Estée Lauder is active in 150 countries around the world. It is a leading manufacturer and marketer of skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair products.
