Geneva : creation of a pole of excellence in aeronautics

Six companies in Geneva joined forces to create a pole of excellence in aeronautics. This alliance was designed in order for them to develop and benefit from certain feedbacks, shared information, approaches, networks and infrastructures. The purpose of this pole of excellence is to reinforce the competitiveness of companies in this field thus strengthening the solutions available to their customers. Pierre Maudet states in a press release : "The objective is to give them more visibility and position Geneva on the world map of aeronautics".

A first joint action was launched : the six companies in the pole of excellence are renewing their EN9100 certification, which is essential for them to offer services and products related to aviation. Furthermore, they will carry out a common approach, which aims to promote their services and show their expertise to major manufacturers.

Switzerland and aeronautics

In terms of aeronautics, Switzerland has always been able to place itself highly in construction of single-engine aircraft, supplying of spare parts, equipment or components as well as maintenance. Thanks to this alliance, the Geneva authorities aim to make the French speaking area of Switzerland a renowned hub for industrial solutions in aeronautics on a global scale.
