Invus has invested EUR 20 million in the software company KNIME to support its on-going work in transforming the data science industry, according to a statement. KNIME develops various solutions that assist companies and organisations in managing large amounts of data. Its aim is to help customers speed up innovation while reducing risk.

“Even though KNIME was already profitable and is growing strongly, we see a huge window of opportunity for our open source strategy combined with our vision of bringing Guided Analytics to the large group of users who have not been able to benefit from using advanced analytics to date,” said KNIME CEO Michael Berthold.

KNIME users can be found in large-scale enterprises in over 50 countries, and its software is used in a wide range of industries including life sciences, financial services and online publishers, as well as government and research.

KNIME is headquartered in Zurich with branch offices in Konstanz, Berlin and Silicon Valley.
