Epteca and Lufthansa have announced that they have entered into a partnership to expand Lufthansa’s inflight entertainment system. Its BoardConnect system already allows passengers to stream content to their own tablets or smartphones during a flight. By combining it with the Epteca platform, passengers will receive a highly customised customer journey experience, writes the start-up from Zug in a statement.

The platform uses personalised concierge-style communications to offer context marketing and personalised customer service during a flight. For example, if a passenger looks at the weather forecast from their seat and realises that it will be raining at their destination, the Epteca solution makes it possible for them to order an umbrella. It will then be delivered on arrival at the airport.

Epteca is looking forward to the new partnership with Lufthansa. The start-up aims to convince travel and airline companies, retail brands and vendors to rethink the entire customer journey and make it more personalised. Its platform makes it possible to meet customers’ individual needs, even on-board a flight from the comfort of their seat, says Bojan Jokic, Epteca CEO.

Epteca und Lufthansa are launching their joint inflight entertainment solution during Apex Expo in Singapore from 24 to 27 October.
